About the Role
SEMH Learning Mentor
£90 - £110 per day PAYE
Chelmsford
Immediate Start Available
I am now working with a fantastic and supportive Special School in the Chelmsford who are seeking a resilient and reliable SEMH Learning Mentor. You will be working to support pupils who need support with challenging behaviour, and help feeling as calm and settled as possible so they are able to learn effectively.
Pupils within this school have Autism and some may experienced trauma so it is essential that they are supported by SEMH Learning Mentors who are highly consistent and reliable.
This role requires a strong and resilient person who would be an excellent role model.
Requirements of a SEMH Learning Mentor
- Experience with challenging behaviour – this role would really suit someone who has worked in a PRU or SEMH school, has work as a Pastoral Officer in a school, or has experience with challenging behaviour as a Youth Worker.
- Experience working to support pupils with anxiety and emotionally challenging behaviour.
- A resilient personality and an ability to build rapport quickly with staff and students.
- Psychology Graduates welcome to apply!
- An interest in mental health and seeing behaviour as a form of communication is essential for this role.
