Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant - Autism Specialism Teaching Assistant
£450 - £500 PAYE Per Week
Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4pm

Do you have a passion and talent for supporting children and young people with special educational needs, including Autism?
Are you keen to make a difference in the lives of children and young people whilst building your experience and furthering your career in SEN?
I work with an excellent special needs school in the London Borough of Merton. I am looking for a passionate and dedicated psychology graduate teaching assistant to start long-term and permanent roles as soon as possible!
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to gain practical and clinical experience working with primary or secondary-aged students, 1:1 and in group settings.
What you can expect as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
- Your role as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant will be to support students with special educational needs; however, the role will vary from day to day; you will be expected to use your initiative and respond calmly in challenging situations
- For aspiring Teachers, Pastoral Workers, Child Psychologists, Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, SALTs, Counsellors, and Social Workers, these positions will offer a relevant and vital experience for your chosen career path
- Continued Professional Development – This school has 5x more CPD than their surrounding schools
- You will have an opportunity as a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to make a huge social impact as a specialist Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant.
- A long-term contract with an opportunity to transition into a permanent contract

Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant requirements
- Educated to degree level
- Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development
- Ideally, previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs
- A proactive, positive individual who always strives to meet children's learning needs.
- Ability to build rapport with children
