Many of these young people have experienced trauma and may have a history of negative experiences with education. SENCo role Managing and maintaining EHCPs, including attending meetings and managing annual reviews. Developing and implementing effective destination planning and access arrangements. Acting as a key point of contact for local authorities, requiring excellent communication and responsiveness. Working collaboratively with a dedicated team to support young people who schools cannot typically work with due to their significant and complex needs A thorough understanding of the statutory framework for SEND and the EHCP process Proven ability to manage a high workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment A clear understanding of the challenges faced by disadvantaged and hard-to-reach young people with trauma backgrounds Experience working in PRUs or similar alternative provision settings will be extremely beneficial Initiative, drive, and the ability to work as a senior leader A supportive and dedicated team environment. A wonderful primary school that are seeking someone nurturing to support a class of SEND learners, there are 8 learners in the class mostly pre verbal or limited speech and have ASC.
