Pastoral Officer
Central London
Full Time - Long term
Are you passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, social, emotional and mental health needs?
We are working with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Central London that caters for students from primary to year 11 across two sites,. The school provides short- and long-term placements for young people unable to attend mainstream education due to behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as additional diagnoses such as ASC and ADHD.
They are seeking an experienced Pastoral Officer to join their team, delivering 1:1 and small group mentoring interventions to students in Key Stage 3. The ideal candidates will already have experience mentoring and supporting young people with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities for The Pastoral Officer Role:

Deliver targeted intervention and mentoring sessions to support emotional well-being and behaviour.

Build positive relationships to help students develop resilience and coping strategies.

Work with staff and external agencies to create personalised support plans.

Monitor progress and encourage engagement in learning.
Requirements for The Pastoral Officer Role:

Experience working with young people with SEMH needs or in a PRU/SEN setting.

Previous experience mentoring students and delivering interventions

Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

Understanding of trauma-informed practice and restorative approaches.
