I am working with an incredible SEN school in the Royal Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, who are looking to hire a SEN Teacher to join their wonderful team on a permanent basis. This is for the January start.

What to expect as a SEN Teacher:

  • Teaching small classes (up to 10 children per class) and working closely with other teachers, Teaching Assistants, and multi-disciplinary team
  • Teaching children ages 11 to 16 with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and complex needs, including Autism / ASC

Requirements of a SEN Teacher:

  • Must have a QTS or QTLS
  • A dedicated and dynamic personality.
  • To work with SEN staff and support staff (including prior discussion and joint planning) in order to benefit from their specialist knowledge and to maximise their effectiveness within lessons
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEN, although we welcome applications from qualified teachers currently working in mainstream schools, looking to work in the SEN field
  • To contribute towards the implementation of EHCPs as detailed in the current Code of Practice, particularly the planning and recording of appropriate actions and outcomes related to set targets
  • Previous experience teaching primary would be highly valued for this role
  • The school would be happy to consider newly qualified teachers
