Main Responsibilities as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Providing both individual and group therapy sessions to support students' speech and language needs.
  • Developing and delivering tailored therapy plans to meet each pupil’s specific communication requirements.
  • Attending and contributing to staff meetings, Annual Reviews, and other team discussions to ensure cohesive support.
  • Collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team, including teachers, support staff, and other therapists, to provide holistic care.
  • Helping to create a positive and nurturing learning environment that enables children to thrive.
  • Ensuring full compliance with school policies and implementing Health and Safety Regulations, including Risk Assessments.

 

The Ideal Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Must be HCPC registered and hold a degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
  • Has experience working with children and young people with Autism/ASC/ASD, SLCN, and associated learning difficulties.
  • Demonstrates a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a proactive, positive, and patient approach.
  • Is a team player with excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Shows a genuine interest in promoting the development of students with additional needs and the desire to make a lasting impact.
