This innovative and progressive alternative provision, based in West London, provides full-time, alternative, secondary education for young people aged between 4 and 19. This role requires a nurturing mentor who can provide support to a disengaged, school refuser who struggles with anxiety and associated behavioural challenges. This primary-aged boy requires 1:1 support from a calm and patient HLTA who can implement the strategies put in place by the class teachers and therapy staff.

 

School - Alternative Provision

  • A challenging behaviour-based setting providing education, mentoring, counselling, and family support for some of the most vulnerable young people in and around West London
  • A school for Key stage 1 – Key stage 5 students who are unable to access mainstream education due to their additional needs
  • Some students may have more complex needs including social, emotional and health needs (SEMH) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
  • A dedicated and dynamic staff team who are on hand to support and guide you!

Role - HLTA

  • A long-term contract, working for the whole academic year with the prospects of becoming a permanent member of staff!
  • The school hours are 8:30-4pm (Mon-Fri)
  • £110 day rates via PAYE

You - HLTA

  • Working to ensure all students receive an inclusive education to those who are unable to access their education in mainstream schools
  • You will need to be resilient, patient, calm and dedicated to your responsibility as HLTA
  • You will be able to commute to Ealing via public transport, there is no parking available
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH, ASD, SpLD and people with language barriers
  • Ability to build strong relationships with staff and students
  • Proven behaviour management skills
  • Be able to react and adapt to challenges effectively whilst remaining professional
  • Committed to build a career based in Special Educational Needs
  • Desirable training: Positive Behaviour Strategies like Team Teach, MAPA, PRICE, or Proact Skip, Boxall training, play or music therapy

Pay

  • Long-term contracts are available for those who are looking for immediate work. We understand that pay is extremely important, and it must be clear and simple! For that reason, we have chosen to pay our staff via PAYE only. Quoted rates are gross pay and your pay will never involve employer's NI deductions or admin fees
  • Just as roles vary, so will the remuneration depending on the role requirements and your experience. You will often see these roles advertised as daily rates, please note that we pay PAYE only, please bear in mind that all school-based work will be term time only
