About The School
We are working with an SEMH Secondary school based in Brent that is looking for an experienced Geography Teacher to teach and support students with social, emotional and mental health needs. They are committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for students with SEMH needs. Their dedicated team of educators and support staff work collaboratively to empower students, helping them overcome challenges and reach their full potential. The SLT, including executive head, are focused on providing an environment which supports wellbeing for both staff and pupils.
They believe in fostering a love for learning and building positive relationships that extend beyond the classroom.
Role Overview
As a Geography Teacher working within an SEMH school you will place a crucial role in delivering engaging and accessible science education to students with SEMH needs. Ideally you will have experience of delivering Geography lessons or able to teach Geography at A-Level. You will create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for science. Your innovative teaching methods will cater to diverse learning styles, ensuring that every student can succeed and thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons in accordance with the curriculum
- Differentiate instructions to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular approaches to support holistic learning
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback to students and parents
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school's SEMH framework
Requirements
- QTS with relevant Geography teaching experience
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs
