We are working with a fantastic SEN School which is looking for a teacher to lead either a key stage 2 (KS2) or key Stage 4 (KS4) class with a diagnosis of Autism. Within this role, you will lead a class of 12 students, assisted by 3 SEND Teaching Assistants. The school has a fantastic training program for both experienced and newly qualified teachers, a massive therapist team which will work with students throughout the day, and the building is completely bespoke with all resources needed to help teach and support the students. The students for the classes the school is searching for a teacher for have mixed moderate learning needs, and all students all have a diagnosis of autism with some students possibly having other additional needs. We are working with a fantastic school in South East London Borough of Southwark to fill the position of SEND Teacher within a mainstream school in their ARP. The students at the school range from ages 5-11. The school encourage learning through arts and crafts and student’s interests in things like cars or football. This is to teach life skills to the students to help with their educational and personal development. Within this role, you will be supported by LSAs and have access to various facilities and resources to help you provide students with the best lessons possible. The school is known to be an amazing place to work, with supportive staff, great students and a reputation for staff staying for years due to enjoying their roles so much. Requirements of an SEN Teacher: SEND qualifications or experience To work and support students with a diagnosis of Autism To observe, assess and support students in their personal and educational development To work alongside Management, SENCO’s and other faculty To be prepared to offer advice to parents and work with them to support their child.
