We are working with a dynamic and supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) dedicated to providing high-quality education to students who face challenges in mainstream settings. They believe in nurturing the talents and potential of every student, helping them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals in a safe, inclusive, and innovative learning environment.
They are seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their secondary team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to inspire students to develop essential life skills, learn about nutrition, and explore the exciting world of food preparation and technology. You will be a key part of a supportive team, working closely with students who require tailored support in a smaller, more personalised learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and innovative Food Technology lessons to a diverse group of students in a PRU setting.
- Plan and implement a curriculum that is both creative and relevant, catering to the needs and abilities of each student.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere where students feel empowered to explore their creativity and learn practical skills.
- Work closely with colleagues to develop individualised learning plans and provide pastoral support to students.
- Encourage students to explore the links between food, nutrition, and health, while promoting positive eating habits.
- Support students in building confidence, self-discipline, and a strong work ethic through hands-on learning and real-world applications.
Requirements For Food Technology Teacher;
- Qualified Teacher or unqualified with proven experience
- Experience teaching in a secondary setting, preferably with students who may have social, emotional, or behavioural difficulties.
- Creative, patient, and empathetic with the ability to adapt your teaching approach to suit individual needs.
- A good understanding of the curriculum and the ability to deliver it in a way that is engaging, hands-on, and accessible.
