Behaviour Mentor

£100 - £120 Per Day PAYE

If you are a resilient person who is looking for a new, challenging role supporting young people with behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs, then this is the role for you!

We are working with a PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) based in central London that is seeking passionate and resilient behaviour mentors. The school offers education to students in primary through secondary school who may be on a short-term or longer-term placement as they are not able to attend mainstream education. This will be due to their challenging behaviour, social, emotional and mental health needs and can be other additional needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural and SEMH needs.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and motivation.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to develop personalised support plans.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.

 Requirements;

  • Experience working with young people who have challenging behaviours, ideally within a PRU or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of SEMH needs, behaviour management techniques, and safeguarding.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to handling challenging situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
