Assistant SENCO – East London – Permanent contract – Easter Start Date

Reporting to: SENCO
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £24,000 - £32,000 p/a (depending on experience)
Are you an experienced SEND Learning support assistant or HLTA, looking for a new challenge with a supportive and friendly team?
Do you have experience working as part of a school inclusion team and have a sound knowledge of SEND?
Are you keen to transfer your current experience and knowledge in a role in which you can progress your SEND career?
Are you an experienced SEND support worker who feels unable to progress without a teaching qualification?
I am actively looking for passionate SEND professionals who are keen to find an opportunity to develop their SEND career. Interviews with the Head and Inclusion team are happening soon, so please do not delay in applying! This is an essential role within the inclusion team and will form an integral part of the the school's SEND offer.
What do you need to be a non-teaching Assistant SENCO?
They are looking for someone with a sound knowledge of the SEND code of practice with solid experience in a similar role, or with a background in SEND support/HLTA. You will need to share in the school's child focused vision and hold inclusive practice as the utmost priority. Proven experience in SEND is essential as you will work to assist the school's dedicated SENCO in delivering inclusive education across the whole school. I am looking for someone with a passion for providing consistently inclusive education practices and is focused on continuing their development in SEND. They are a growing school and therefore the successful applicant will have a long career opportunity here with much room for progression and CPD. The ideal candidate would have previous experience as a non-teaching Assistant SENCO, but we also want to hear from those who have a solid SEND background, possess a good work ethic and are eager to learn.
Ultimately, the successful candidate should be enthusiastic, a strong team player and share in the school's vision for genuinely inclusive education.

- Pro rata salary of up to £26,400
Assistant SENCO Responsibilities include:
- Line manage TAs
- Work with children in small groups to provide necessary interventions
- support the SENCO in managing the implementation of an inclusive curriculum
- Liaising with TAs, teachers, parents, and outside agencies to deliver SEND support
- Have a working knowledge of all relevant policies, manuals and documentation to support the role of SENCO
