If you are a nurturing teacher who has experience with Autism and is looking for a new challenge, please read on!
We are working with a special school based in Newham they cater to children aged 5 - 16 with social, emotional, and mental health needs and/or Autism, providing a safe and nurturing learning environment. The school are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher for their ASC class, teaching a class of 6 students in years 1,2 & 3 who have Autism and some who are non-verbal.
Main Duties:
- To plan lessons and teach a class of 6 students in years 1, 2& 3 with Autism and some who are non-verbal
- To be resilient, hard-working and have an understanding of mental health and teaching neurodiverse children
- Responsibility for tracking pupil progress and monitoring to support teaching and learning
- Deliver dynamic and creative lessons
- Built positive relationships with students, parents and carers
- Experience teaching children with Autism

Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Unqualified and proven experience
- Excellent communication skills
- A strong sense of empathy, patience, and resilience, with the ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situations
