1:1 Teaching Assistant
London Borough of Redbridge
£80 - £90 PAYE

I am working with a fantastic comprehensive secondary school in the London Borough of Redbridge who are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 11 student presenting with SEMH needs due to a highly trauma-related upbringing. The student has also been known to self-harm, therefore this role would appeal to a strong individual with an interest in and knowledge of CAMHS.
This school firmly believes in producing confident and respectful learners who can exceed barriers and seize new opportunities throughout their academic journeys, preparing them for future education or employment.
This is the first occasion in which Redbridge has funded 1:1 support within schools, therefore this trailblazing role will be sure to leave a lasting impact and change the lives of vulnerable students.
The ideal 1:1 Teaching Assistant
- The ideal 1:1 Teaching Assistant will have experience working within a similar environment, specifically with SEMH and will be confident with challenging behaviours
- Due to students following the GCSE curriculum, the candidate should be able to provide efficient academic support within the classroom
- Resilience and adaptability are crucial alongside the ability to set and maintain boundaries
- The ability to form lasting relationships between staff and students is a must
