Are you looking to work in a welcoming and nurturing special school?
Do you work to work in an environment where you are supported and given fantastic training opportunities?
Are you passionate about working with Special Educational Needs children and looking for a new challenge?
I am working with an outstanding special school based in Sutton that is seeking a passionate and experienced 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join their team working part-time (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday). This will be supporting children aged 4-19 with high needs that include ASD and PLMD. This Learning Support Assistant would really suit applicants with experience working with children with SEN in a school environment, however the school may consider applicants who personal experience with SEN, or who truly care about having a positive effect on the lives of SEN children.
What to expect working as a Learning Support Assistant;
- Fantastic training opportunities working alongside teachers and speech therapists for anyone looking to progress into teaching, childcare or psychology.
- Continuous CPD training for all SEN Support Assistants, including: Phonics, Makaton, PECs, Colourful Semantics etc
- An amazing way to gain experience working to support pupils with special needs
- A kind, friendly and respectful workplace where you can feel accepted and comfortable.
- Opportunities to be able to work during half terms and summer holidays
- An opportunity to really make a positive social and emotional difference in the life of the child you are primarily working with.
Requirements for a Learning Support Assistant
- Experience working with SEN is desirable, but anyone with a positive energy and willingness to learn and contribute is key!
- Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting would be fantastic, however this is not essential.
- An ability to provide a calming and presence while being engaging.
- A bubbly and energetic mindset with a good sense of fun.
- An ability to build strong relationships with both students and staff
