About the Role
Are you a teacher in a challenging environment to lead a class within a PRU?
We are looking for qualified teachers to teach in Pupil Referral Unit’s across Waltham Forest. The students at the PRU School have been removed from mainstream education and may show challenging behaviour, meaning the applicant must be okay with this and keep control in a disruptive environment. The successful applicants will be supported by SEN Teaching Assistants and Behaviour Mentors who will aid the teacher however possible within the class.
Requirements of a PRU Teacher:
- SEN qualifications or experience
- To work and support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health and Challenging behaviour
- To observe, assess and support students referred to the school from mainstream schools and to set strategies and behaviour targets based on reports and observations.
- To work alongside Management, SENCO’s and other faculty
- To be prepared to offer advice to parents and work with them to support their child.
- QTS/QTLS
