Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher seeking a new challenge? We have a fantastic opportunity to teach in a special needs school in Guildford, Surrey.
The school is based in Surrey and is an all through school; however, this role will be to exclusively work within KS3.
The school works to support the academic, specialist and social needs of students. The students all have EHCPs and a variety of needs which includes SEMH, Behavioural Issues, ADHD, ASC, SLCN & Severe Social Anxieties. They offer a nurturing approach to education and social development and have a therapy team onsite working in a range of different disciplines such as play, music, drama, art and family & LEGO therapy. They also have a strong relationship with CAMHS, the School Nursing Service and with the Early Help & Social Care team
The role will be teaching a small class of SEMH students—up to 10 students—and you will be supported by a team of two teaching assistants.
KS3 Nurture Teacher - Guildford - Requirements
- Experience in working effectively with young people who present with a range of challenging behaviour
- QTS or equivalent
- Substantial and recent experience in teaching pupils/students with special needs, including autism, to a high standard
- Experience working in a special educational needs school is not essential. We have excellent opportunities for Teachers to extend their continuous professional development and develop skills in special education.
